Delegation accounts and cards: how an embassy or trade mission brings delegates to Canada without cash

Fund once from home in local currency, hold the budget in US dollars, give each delegate a named account and a card with its own limit, and reconcile every dollar. What it is, who it is for, what is live and what is early access.

The short answer. A ministry, embassy, company or event organiser funds a Storspay organisation account once, from home, in naira, shillings, CFA or any of the 26 local currencies. The budget is held in US dollars. Each delegate gets a named account and a Storspay Card with its own budget, spending dates and daily limit for hotels, transport and meals in Canada or the United States. Finance sees every dollar per person; unspent funds return to the organisation. No envelopes of cash, no bank-branch FX. The organisation account and Get paid are live today; delegate accounts and cards are in early access with a first group of partners.

The problem this removes

Every delegation that comes to Canada for a trade mission, a summit or a conference runs on money that has to get here first. Today that means one of three things: delegates carry cash and change it at the airport at the worst rate in the city; the organisation wires per-diems to each person's account and loses 5–7% and a week; or someone senior pays hotel bills on a personal card and reconciles receipts for a month afterwards. None of it is auditable, and all of it is expensive.

How it works

1. The organisation funds once

The ministry, embassy, company or organiser pays into its Storspay organisation account from home, in local currency, like a local transfer. The balance is held in US dollars at the mid-market rate shown on the day.

2. Each delegate gets an account and a card

Up to 25 named delegate accounts per organisation today, expanding on request. For each person you set the budget — $100 for one delegate, $200 for another — the dates it can be spent, the daily limit, and whether the card works online only or also at an ATM. A virtual card is issued instantly; a physical card can be shipped; cards can be added to Apple Pay.

3. Finance sees every dollar

One dashboard shows what each delegate has spent, by day, against their limit. Freeze a lost card in one tap. Unspent funds return to the organisation's balance at the end of the mission. Every transaction carries a receipt, so reconciliation is a report, not a project.

Who this is for

What is live and what is early access

Being precise here matters more than being exciting. Live today: the organisation account, funding from any of the 26 countries, holding US dollars, and Get paid — an organiser invoicing a ministry or company abroad and receiving dollars the same day. Early access: the named delegate accounts and the Storspay Card. We are opening them to a first group of delegation partners and want those partners to shape how the product works before it is generally available. We do not promise cards for a specific date or event.

Questions organisers ask

Can delegates withdraw cash?

You decide per delegate. Toggle ATM withdrawals on or off, set a daily limit, and restrict the countries where the card works.

What happens to unspent money?

It returns to the organisation's Storspay balance when the delegate's spending window closes, and can be paid out or used for the next mission.

Can the organiser be paid by the delegation's home ministry through Storspay?

Yes — that part is live. The organiser sends a payment request in CAD or USD; the ministry pays in its local currency; the dollars land the same business day.

Is the organisation's money safe while it is held?

Balances are held with regulated, licensed institutions; US dollar accounts are at an FDIC-member US bank. Storspay is not a bank and does not lend or invest client balances.

How do we become an early-access partner?

Write to sam@storsapp.com with the delegation, dates and headcount. Organisers can start with Get paid on their own invoices today at app.storspay.com.
