Storspay Exchange vs an OTC desk for a business

OTC desks quote large blocks by phone or chat and settle by bank transfer. When a desk is the right call, when Exchange is, and why a business may use the desk for size and Storspay for everything else.

The short answer. An OTC desk suits six-figure blocks with a negotiated price and a known counterparty; Storspay Exchange suits everyday amounts with instant settlement, screening, statements and a same-day local cash-out. Below the size a desk will quote, Exchange is simpler and auditable; above it, use the desk and bring the proceeds to Storspay.

What a desk offers

A quoted price for a large block, a human on the other end, and settlement by wire or to a wallet. Minimums are usually US$25,000–100,000; the spread depends on the relationship and the day.

What Exchange offers

Any amount from a few hundred dollars, a published fee, instant settlement from a balance, screening on every address, a statement line with the counterparty’s business name, and a cash-out to your local bank or mobile money the same business day.

Where they overlap

A desk that settles to your Storspay address is a counterparty like any other: the deposit is screened, credited and matched to the trade confirmation. Many businesses will use a desk for size and Storspay for operations.

The question to ask a desk

Will the proceeds land in an account in my business’s name, with a receipt I can show an auditor? If the answer involves a personal account or a third party, the trade may be cheap and still cost you the bank relationship.

How it works, in four steps

  1. Apply once. A verified business on a paid Storspay plan applies from the Exchange tab: a few questions about what it will trade and why, a one-time identity check for a director, the wallets it plans to use. Reply within one business day.
  2. Receive or convert. A client sends USDT or USDC to the address in your business name, or you convert dollars or euros from your balance at 0.75% all-in.
  3. Trade or hold. Keep the balance, convert between USDC and USDT at 0.25%, or trade with other verified businesses on the P2P market — taker 0.5%, makers free, settled the instant the buyer confirms.
  4. Cash out or send. Pay your local bank or mobile money the same business day at 2% all-in, or send to any wallet address for the network fee only.

Who this is for — and who it is not for

Businesses, and a sole trader counts: every movement is a business transaction with an invoice, a contract or work delivered. Traders are welcome as businesses and should expect what the page says plainly — verified counterparties, instant settlement and a cash-out to their own business account, not the tightest spread on the internet. Personal accounts, gifts and family transfers are not what this is.

Keep your invoices and statements for your records and ask a local accountant how income in digital dollars is taxed where you live.
