How to get paid by customers in Mexico: payment requests, same-day USD credit, and what a US$10,000 invoice really nets

Selling to Mexican customers? Instead of an inbound wire that arrives short and late, send a Storspay payment request they pay in pesos and get a USD credit the same business day, 2% all-in at the mid-market rate.

Short answer. Create a payment request in Storspay for the amount you want to receive. Your customer in Mexico pays it locally, in pesos, from the bank app or wallet they already use — no sign-up on their side. You are credited in US dollars to your Storspay balance the same business day it is paid, at 2% all-in and the mid-market rate, with no receiving fee and no intermediary bank.

Who this is for — and who it is not for

Storspay is for businesses, and a sole trader counts as one. If you are a freelancer or sole proprietor trading in your own name, you open a business account of the sole-trader type. You can be paid by companies abroad, and you can pay other businesses on Storspay — including other sole traders — for work they have done for you.

What Storspay is not is a personal money-transfer service. We do not open personal accounts, and every payment has to be a business transaction: an invoice, a contract, work delivered. Money to family, gifts and personal transfers are not what this is, and we would rather say so now than at verification.

If you sell into Mexico — to distributors, manufacturers, agencies and clinics across Mexico — you have probably been paid by inbound wire: a week of waiting, US$20–$50 of receiving fees, an FX spread your customer's bank chose, and an amount that never quite matches the invoice. Storspay replaces that with a payment request your customer pays locally, in pesos, and a USD credit to your Storspay balance the same business day it is paid.

How your Mexican customer pays

You create a payment request in Storspay for the amount you want to receive. It carries MXN account details and a reference. Your customer simply pay by SPEI from any Mexican bank or fintech app to the peso CLABE on the request — from the bank app or wallet they already use, with nothing to sign up for. SPEI payments arrive in minutes at any hour; the reference goes in the concepto field and Storspay matches it automatically.

What you receive

The USD equivalent, credited to your Storspay balance the same business day the local payment is confirmed. Storspay charges 2% all-in at the mid-market rate — no FX markup, no receiving fee, no intermediary bank. From your balance you can pay your own team in any of the 26 corridors, pay a US, UK or European bank account, or spend on a Storspay Card.

A worked example

You want to receive US$10,000. Storspay creates a request for the gross amount that nets you $10,000 after the 2% — US$10,204.08, which is MX$187,824 at the mid-market rate on the day of writing, September 2026 (1 USD = 18.41 MXN). Your customer pays that in pesos; you are credited $10,000. An inbound wire for the same invoice typically arrives $500–$700 short after spread and fees, three to seven days later.

Large invoices

Where the local channel has a per-transfer cap, Storspay splits the request into as many references as the cap requires. Your customer pays each one; you are credited once, with one fee, and the request shows "paid" only when every part has landed.

Who uses this

Questions we get

Does my customer need a Storspay account?

No. They pay the request from their own bank or wallet, exactly as they would pay any local invoice.

Can I keep the money in MXN?

Storspay credits your balance in USD at the mid-market rate. If you also pay people in Mexico, you can pay them from that balance at 2% — the round trip is transparent both ways.

Can the money go straight to my bank?

Yes. From your USD balance, pay out to a US, UK or European bank account in your name from $5, £4 or €4.50, or hold it and spend on a Storspay Card.

Try the Get paid mode on the calculator — choose Mexico as the payer, enter what you want to receive, and it shows what they pay and what you keep against an inbound wire. Verified businesses can request early access.

See your own corridor number. What your team receives, what Storspay costs, what you keep — no sign-up.
