How to pay a supplier or freelancer in USDC from your business account

Some suppliers and freelancers want to be paid in USDC or USDT. Here is how a business pays them from Storspay in minutes — the recipient type to add, what screening does, what it costs, and when to pay local currency instead.

The short answer. In Run Payroll, add a recipient of type “Wallet address”, pick USDC or USDT, paste the address they gave you, and pay from your USDC, USDT, dollar or euro balance. The address is screened on save and on every send; the transfer arrives in minutes for the network fee only — about two cents on Base, about a dollar on Tron.

A developer in Accra, a design studio in Nairobi, a parts supplier in Shenzhen or a contractor in Buenos Aires may ask to be paid in digital dollars because it is what they can use fastest. For a business on Storspay that is now an ordinary payout, with the same Review, Processing and Sent screens as everything else.

When USDC or USDT is the right way to pay

When the recipient asks for it and can use it — they hold a wallet, trade, or pay their own suppliers that way. When the recipient wants local currency in a bank or mobile-money account, pay that instead: Storspay delivers to 30 countries at 2% all-in, and the recipient never has to touch digital dollars. Paying a wallet address is a choice made by the recipient, not a default.

Adding the recipient

Team Members → Add recipient → type “Wallet address”. Choose the asset — USDC on Base or USDT on Tron (TRC-20) — then paste the address; Storspay checks that a Base address starts with 0x and a Tron address with T before it lets you save. The address is screened immediately: low risk saves as verified, medium risk saves with a 30-minute delay on the first send and a note to you, high risk cannot be used. Label it the way you label a bank account.

Paying

Run Payroll → pick the recipient → amount in USDC or USDT → Pay from: any balance. From a USDC balance it is a straight send; from dollars or euros Storspay converts first at 0.75% all-in and shows both lines before you confirm. Confirm with a one-time code. The payment appears in Payroll History with the network, the transaction reference and a receipt the recipient can be sent, like any other payout.

What it costs

Sending is the network fee only — about US$0.02 on Base, about US$1 on Tron — passed through and shown before you confirm. Storspay charges nothing on the send itself; the 0.75% applies only if you convert from dollars or euros first. For comparison, the same supplier paid by international wire would cost US$25–45 in fees and three days.

Mixed batches

A payroll run can mix a wallet-address payout with local-currency payouts to Kenya, Nigeria or the Philippines and a US bank payout, under one reference and one confirmation. Each line shows its own fee and delivery time.

How it works, in four steps

  1. Apply once. A verified business on a paid Storspay plan applies from the Exchange tab: a few questions about what it will trade and why, a one-time identity check for a director, the wallets it plans to use. Reply within one business day.
  2. Receive or convert. A client sends USDT or USDC to the address in your business name, or you convert dollars or euros from your balance at 0.75% all-in.
  3. Trade or hold. Keep the balance, convert between USDC and USDT at 0.25%, or trade with other verified businesses on the P2P market — taker 0.5%, makers free, settled the instant the buyer confirms.
  4. Cash out or send. Pay your local bank or mobile money the same business day at 2% all-in, or send to any wallet address for the network fee only.

Questions people ask

Can I pay a wallet address from my US dollar balance?

Yes. Storspay converts to USDC or USDT first at 0.75% all-in and shows both lines before you confirm.

What if I paste the wrong address?

Storspay checks the format and screens the address, but it cannot know whether it belongs to your supplier. Confirm the address with the recipient on a second channel before the first payment, and send a small amount first.

Does the recipient need Storspay?

No. Any wallet address works. If the recipient is on Storspay, pay them from balance to balance instead — free and instant.

Who this is for — and who it is not for

Businesses, and a sole trader counts: every movement is a business transaction with an invoice, a contract or work delivered. Traders are welcome as businesses and should expect what the page says plainly — verified counterparties, instant settlement and a cash-out to their own business account, not the tightest spread on the internet. Personal accounts, gifts and family transfers are not what this is.

Keep your invoices and statements for your records and ask a local accountant how income in digital dollars is taxed where you live.
