Should a business hold digital dollars, or just US dollars?
A US dollar balance on Storspay already protects against a weak local currency. What USDC or USDT adds — and does not add — for a business that is not asked to pay or receive them.

The short answer. If nobody pays you in digital dollars and nobody asks to be paid in them, a US dollar balance is enough and simpler. Hold USDC or USDT when a counterparty uses them, when you pay wallets, or when you want an asset that can leave to any wallet rather than only through Storspay’s payout rails.
What a dollar balance already does
Dollars arrive by wire to account details in your name, are held as dollars, and leave by payroll to banks and mobile money in 30 countries or to US, UK and European banks. For a business whose counterparties all use banks, that is the whole job.
What digital dollars add
Three things: a way to be paid by counterparties who only send USDT or USDC; a way to pay suppliers and freelancers who only take them, in minutes for the network fee; and an asset that can leave to any wallet or exchange account, not only through Storspay’s rails.
What they do not add
Yield, a better exchange rate on cash-out (it is 2% all-in from any balance), or protection beyond what dollars already give. USDC and USDT are designed to be worth a dollar; a dollar balance already is one.
A sensible default
Keep your working balance in US dollars. Convert to USDC or USDT only for the counterparties who use them, at 0.75%, and let deposits in digital dollars sit as digital dollars until you decide. The ≈ total shows you the whole picture.
How it works, in four steps
- Apply once. A verified business on a paid Storspay plan applies from the Exchange tab: a few questions about what it will trade and why, a one-time identity check for a director, the wallets it plans to use. Reply within one business day.
- Receive or convert. A client sends USDT or USDC to the address in your business name, or you convert dollars or euros from your balance at 0.75% all-in.
- Trade or hold. Keep the balance, convert between USDC and USDT at 0.25%, or trade with other verified businesses on the P2P market — taker 0.5%, makers free, settled the instant the buyer confirms.
- Cash out or send. Pay your local bank or mobile money the same business day at 2% all-in, or send to any wallet address for the network fee only.
What it costs

Who this is for — and who it is not for
Businesses, and a sole trader counts: every movement is a business transaction with an invoice, a contract or work delivered. Traders are welcome as businesses and should expect what the page says plainly — verified counterparties, instant settlement and a cash-out to their own business account, not the tightest spread on the internet. Personal accounts, gifts and family transfers are not what this is.
Keep your invoices and statements for your records and ask a local accountant how income in digital dollars is taxed where you live.
