StorsApp Inc. is now registered in Alberta — and building its Canadian base in Calgary

Storspay's parent company completed its Alberta registration on September 15, 2026. Calgary is the fastest-growing tech ecosystem in Canada, and the introductions that got us there came from 500 Global, Intrinsic Innovations and MLT Aikins.

Short answer. StorsApp Inc., the company behind Storspay, was registered as an extra-provincial corporation in Alberta on September 15, 2026. Our registered office and agent for service are now at MLT Aikins LLP in downtown Calgary, and a federal filing to move our registered office there follows. Nothing changes for customers: the same product, the same team, the same 26 corridors.

Why Calgary

We looked at where Canadian financial technology is actually growing rather than where it is largest. Toronto-Waterloo is the bigger fintech ecosystem and will stay that way. But Calgary is the fastest-growing tech ecosystem in the country, and Startup Genome has called it a fast-growing fintech hub and one of the fintech ecosystems to watch in North America. For a company at our stage, the rate of change matters more than the absolute size — it decides how easily you meet the next engineer, the next customer and the next investor.

There are plainer reasons too. Alberta's general corporate rate is 23% against Ontario's 26.5%. And the Scientific Research and Experimental Development programme returns 35% as a refundable credit on the first $3 million of qualifying R&D for Canadian-controlled private corporations — which matters to a company whose costs are overwhelmingly engineering: payment orchestration across several settlement rails and currencies, automated business verification, and the AI systems that route and support every transaction.

Who made it possible

This was a chain of introductions, and it is worth naming each link.

None of that is a transaction we could have bought. It is what an ecosystem is for, and we are glad to be in it.

What we are building from here

Storspay is a business-to-business cross-border payments platform. Companies in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Europe pay teams, contractors and suppliers across 26 corridors in Africa, Latin America and Asia at 2% all-in, the same business day, and get paid back by their customers in those countries.

The part growing fastest right now is the smallest kind of business there is. A freelancer in Benin, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon, Nigeria, Ghana or Kenya, working for agencies in Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States or Canada, has always faced the same wall: the client will only pay a bank account in the freelancer's own name, and the freelancer has no way to hold the currency they are paid in. On Storspay a sole trader is a business type — you are the business, trading in your own name — so we issue account details in your name, hold your dollars and euros as dollars and euros rather than converting them the moment they land, and let you move them to a local bank account or mobile-money wallet on your schedule, not your client's.

And because a sole trader is a business account like any other, these freelancers can pay each other. A developer in Dakar who subcontracts part of a job to a designer in Abidjan settles it Storspay to Storspay — free, instant, in whatever currency the payer holds, with no conversion in between. It is the same basis on which we serve them in the first place: they are businesses, doing business in their own names.

To be equally clear about what we are not: we do not open personal accounts, and every payment has to be a business transaction — an invoice, a contract, work delivered. Money to family is not what this is.

Where things stand

StorsApp Inc. remains a federal corporation, incorporated in 2019. The Alberta extra-provincial registration completed on September 15, 2026 under corporate access number 2128525017. The federal amendment moving our registered office to Calgary is filed and in progress; we will say so here when it completes. Our FINTRAC money services business registration is filed under case 010760 and in progress — we say "filed", never "licensed", until it is.
