USDC vs USDT for a business: which one, and why
The practical difference between the two digital dollars for a business that receives, pays and holds them — who uses which, what each costs to move, and why Storspay lets you hold both and convert between them at 0.25%.

The short answer. Use the one your clients and suppliers already use: USDT for most counterparties in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, USDC for most US and European platforms. Hold both on Storspay and convert between them at 0.25% — there is no need to pick a side.
What they have in common
Both are issued against reserves and designed to be worth one US dollar; both move in minutes on open networks; both are shown on Storspay as their own balance, never as “$”. For day-to-day business use the difference is who sends which, not which is “better”.
Who uses which
USDT is older, larger and dominant in trading, in the Gulf, in Asia and across African P2P markets; a buyer in Dubai or a supplier in Shenzhen will almost always offer USDT. USDC is what US and European fintechs and platforms pay in, and what most US-based developers hold.
Networks and cost to move
On Storspay USDC lives on Base (about two cents to send) and USDT on Tron TRC-20 (about a dollar). Each balance has its own address; the account says, in red, which network to use. Receiving is free on both.
Why hold both
Because your counterparties will not agree on one. Convert between them at 0.25% with a 30-second locked quote when a payer or payee prefers the other; convert either to US dollars at 0.75% when you want a dollar balance; cash either out locally at 2% all-in.
How it works, in four steps
- Apply once. A verified business on a paid Storspay plan applies from the Exchange tab: a few questions about what it will trade and why, a one-time identity check for a director, the wallets it plans to use. Reply within one business day.
- Receive or convert. A client sends USDT or USDC to the address in your business name, or you convert dollars or euros from your balance at 0.75% all-in.
- Trade or hold. Keep the balance, convert between USDC and USDT at 0.25%, or trade with other verified businesses on the P2P market — taker 0.5%, makers free, settled the instant the buyer confirms.
- Cash out or send. Pay your local bank or mobile money the same business day at 2% all-in, or send to any wallet address for the network fee only.

Who this is for — and who it is not for
Businesses, and a sole trader counts: every movement is a business transaction with an invoice, a contract or work delivered. Traders are welcome as businesses and should expect what the page says plainly — verified counterparties, instant settlement and a cash-out to their own business account, not the tightest spread on the internet. Personal accounts, gifts and family transfers are not what this is.
Keep your invoices and statements for your records and ask a local accountant how income in digital dollars is taxed where you live.
