The short answer. A verified business in Benin on a paid Storspay plan gets USDC and USDT balances next to its US dollars and euros. A client, platform or partner sends digital dollars to an address in your business name; you keep them, convert them, trade them with other verified businesses, or cash out in West African CFA franc to your own bank or mobile money the same business day at 2% all-in.

This guide is for businesses in Benin — exporters, agencies, software studios, platforms, freelancers and sole traders in Cotonou, Porto-Novo and Parakou — whose clients or counterparties already use USDT or USDC, and for traders who run that activity as a business. It covers how the money arrives, what it costs, how cashing out in West African CFA franc works, and what Storspay Exchange is not.

Why Beninese businesses are asked to accept digital dollars

Buyers in the Gulf, Asia and Europe, platforms that settle in USDT, and partners who already hold USDC increasingly offer to pay that way because it is fast, final and cheap on their side. Until now a Beninese business had two poor options: refuse the payment, or accept it into a personal wallet and sell it to a stranger on a P2P app — no invoice, a screenshot as proof, and a bank that may freeze the transfer. Storspay Exchange gives the business a third option: an address in its own name, screening on arrival, and a cash-out to its own business account.

How the money arrives

Under Get paid you will find two account-details cards beside your dollar and euro details: USDC on Base and USDT on Tron (TRC-20), each with its own address. Give the right one to your client — most counterparties in Africa and Asia send USDT on Tron; most US and European platforms send USDC on Base. The account tells you, in red, which network to use, because digital dollars sent on the wrong network cannot be recovered. Every deposit is screened before it is credited; a flagged source is held and reviewed within one business day. Receiving is free.

Cashing out in West African CFA franc

From the USDC or USDT balance, Run Payroll pays your own account in Benin: you give the mobile-money number and the network, Storspay shows the mid-market rate and the 2% all-in fee before you confirm, and the amount on the confirmation screen is the amount that lands — in minutes to mobile money, the same business day to a bank. Nothing is converted until you ask, so you can cash out what you need this week and keep the rest as digital dollars.

We do not print a West African CFA franc figure here because the rate moves every day. A US$1,000 deposit cashes out as US$980 worth of West African CFA franc at the mid-market rate on the day — and the figure you see before you confirm is the figure in your account.

Trading with other businesses in Benin and beyond

The P2P market lists offers from verified businesses, priced in US dollars or euros per USDC or USDT. You pay from your Storspay balance; the trade settles the instant you confirm, with both sides held by Storspay until then. The taker pays 0.5%, makers pay nothing. There is no payment window, no screenshot and no stranger’s bank account — the other side is a business that passed the same review you did. A business in Benin that holds USDT and needs dollars, and a business that holds dollars and needs USDT, meet at a price better than our treasury’s 0.75%, and both get a receipt and a statement line with the counterparty’s business name.

How it works, in four steps

  1. Apply once. A verified business on a paid Storspay plan applies from the Exchange tab: a few questions about what it will trade and why, a one-time identity check for a director, the wallets it plans to use. Reply within one business day.
  2. Receive or convert. A client sends USDT or USDC to the address in your business name, or you convert dollars or euros from your balance at 0.75% all-in.
  3. Trade or hold. Keep the balance, convert between USDC and USDT at 0.25%, or trade with other verified businesses on the P2P market — taker 0.5%, makers free, settled the instant the buyer confirms.
  4. Cash out or send. Pay your local bank or mobile money the same business day at 2% all-in, or send to any wallet address for the network fee only.

Questions people ask

Can a client pay me in USDT if I am in Benin?

Yes. Give them your USDT address on Tron from Get paid. The deposit is screened, credited to your USDT balance, and from there you cash out in West African CFA franc at 2% all-in or keep it.

Do I need a wallet app?

No. Your digital dollars live in your Storspay account like your dollars and euros; you sign in as usual and confirm sends with a one-time code.

What do I need to cash out in Benin?

The mobile-money number and the network. Storspay shows the rate and the fee before you confirm.

Is this for traders?

For traders who operate as a registered business or a sole trader and want verified counterparties, instant settlement and a cash-out to their own business account — yes. For the tightest spread with strangers and screenshots, a spread-only P2P app will be cheaper, and we would rather say so.

Who this is for — and who it is not for

Businesses, and a sole trader counts: every movement is a business transaction with an invoice, a contract or work delivered. Traders are welcome as businesses and should expect what the page says plainly — verified counterparties, instant settlement and a cash-out to their own business account, not the tightest spread on the internet. Personal accounts, gifts and family transfers are not what this is.

Keep your invoices and statements for your records and ask a local accountant how income in digital dollars is taxed where you live.
